An excellent guide to conduct on the RoK Message Boards can be found on the RoK Tutorial Site, here.
BEFORE you post it is very important that you attempt to search for the answer to your question. It's probably already there. The message boards operate on limited monthly bandwidth, and too many frivolous posts can force DM to take the boards down for the rest of the month very quickly.
If you have questions about a problem or error, search the Help forum. Use the simplest search criteria possible, like "runtime 53" etc. If you have a general question about the game or website, try searching General Discussion, again using simple terms to find the most results. That way you get your answer faster, and you don't needlessly repost questions that have already been answered. (The solution to many errors can also be found in 666_Evil's Common Errors Guide.)
Staff tries hard to keep the message boards civil and clean. It's tempting to reply to someone in anger or misunderstanding and start a "flame war." You have a choice. You can join our community, contribute to it and help this wonderful game grow (all while having a great time and meeting new friends), or you can be a total jerk to everyone, hinder the community and have a little bit of so called "fun." The choice is yours. I suggest you pick the first option. If you just show a little respect, you will be welcomed warmly by most. We really do have a good time here, but it's something you have to work at.
