Midnight Muggers
Midnight, a time when all across Syndar, the
ruthless and stealthy wreak havoc upon those who are unlucky enough to
be outside of their homes. You, along with up to two others on your
team, are a band of ruthless assassins that prey on the rich and give
to yourselves. However, you aren't a stranger to extortion either, and
you often find yourself offering pricey protective services to nobles
with fat wallets. After all, what good is a one-time attempt at
someone's life when you can get money flowing in regularly, without
fear of reprisal?
Where: The Capture-the-Flag Mosh Arena
When: Friday nights at Midnight Pacific Time, 3am Server Time
Participation: 12 teams consisting of three
protectors/muggers and a noble client strive to survive the night
against a mob of stragglers and each other. The first 12 teams
to contact "You" at the event's start will be the muggers, any
others are warped in as random stragglers to hinder the muggers.
Rules: You, along with 11 other rival gangs, will be
wandering throughout the night with your customer, a noble, as s/he
performs various unnoticeable tasks in the background. (Nobles are
Non-Player Characters, all of equal strength, who may be called upon
to assist with attacks.)
It is up to you to keep your customer safe by
eliminating all the other gangs. Once your noble is defeated, you
cannot receive a reward, but you may wander around and try to
sabotage another group's chances.
Each noble will drop a coin purse. Collect
as many as you can as the more purses you have, the better your
group's prize if you happen to win the event. Purses are
worthless once that week's event is over.
To win,
you must have the last noble alive AND you must reach your noble's
house safely (either Red or Blue Flag Room). Once your remaining
living gang members are accounted for, your prize will be determined
based on how many coin purses you possess.
You also have to worry about stragglers who join in just to sabotage
the gangs who have nobles. They can't win anything, but they will
surely come.
Combat restrictions include:
-
Alts are not
allowed, and to prevent anyone from trying to sneak in an alt, if
you are found with multiple alts, not only will your two characters
be killed, but anyone in a party with one of your clan members will
be killed as well. Seem unfair? So are large clans, who'll be mainly
affected by this. Party leaders will be targeted.
-
Quest items more
powerful than a one-a-days are not allowed.
-
Stat altering and
healing potions are allowed.
-
Anything you can
buy in a shop or find on a respawning monster is allowed.
-
Teams larger than
3 are not allowed. Allying with other teams is fine, but you must
remain in separate parties and, of course, only one team can win.
* Exception: Stranded people, those without a noble/with their noble
dead, may form parties of up to 5 people. They're more of a hazard
this way.
