The Tough Guy Contest
The Tough Guy Contest is what separates the
pretenders from the contenders. Twelve bloodthirsty warriors enter the
arena; one walks out and is named the toughest in the Realms. The real
challenge though is defending the title.
Where: The Tough Guy Arena. Where else?
Participation: Limited to only those combatants who have
reached the highest level of training possible. From amongst these,
twelve are chosen based upon their speed, proven by their quickness
in paging.
Rules: The Contest is divided into four rounds. First,
the combatants are paired up based upon class, divinity and race for
One on One combat.
The six winners then advance to Round Two,
the dreaded Three for Alls. Again, players are grouped by
class, divinity and race as fairly as possible and left to duke it
out till one from each triad is left standing.
These two then
battle for the honor of challenging the champion of the previous
week. Once the weaker has been weeded out, it is time to see
who really is the Toughest Guy (or Gal) in the Realms...at least for
that week.
If the title of Toughest remains in the hands of one
fighter for 5 weeks in a row, they are revered as the TGChampion,
gifted with a special prize, and honored with a statue in their
likeness.
Combat restrictions include:
-
You must be fully equipped and ready to fight when selection begins.
The beings of the Outer Realms are not a valet service and will not
bus you about the Realms to put together your equipment.
-
No potions, no questies, no event items, no stat modifying anything.
-
If you want food and water during the event, bring it
yourself.
-
You will be healed to full life before each round.
-
No summoning spells, no sap or faeriefire. Beneficial spells
(stoneskin, animorph, haste, etc) may only be cast upon
yourself, and that during your match or during countdown.
-
Death Mages: 2 Lifedrains are allowed per round.
-
Priests and Guardians: One heal per round.
-
Stalkers: A buddy will be spawned to aid you. The opponent MUST
kill the buddy before attacking you.
-
Elder Druids: May morph ONCE during the match. No healing.
-
Slayers and Brigands: You may NOT hide on your last action.
The presence of an audience is completely up to
the whim of the Outer Realms being hosting the event, but it is not
unheard of for a small number of spectators to be allowed. If this
is the case, an announcement is broadcasted and normally the five
fastest players to respond are brought in to view the carnage.
If you have not been selected, it is advised that you not bother
the host asking to join.
